THE MEMORY BOX Gets Translated!

It’s officially official!

I am so thrilled to announce the first translation of THE MEMORY BOX will be Turkish! The foreign rights have been sold to the wonderful people at Pegusus, one of Turkey’s preeminent publishing companies located in Istanbul and home to many notable authors such as Jojo Moyes, Suzanne Collins, E L James, Stieg Larsson, John Green, and Kristin Hannah.  Several publishers were interested in the rights, and I was kept at the edge of my seat (literally) as they duked it out. I imagine it was just like Sotheby’s! (Or maybe Auction Hunters . . . )

Here is a photo of the envelope from my Turkish agent, the steadfast and unflappable Filiz Karaman of Nurcihan Kesim Literary Agency, who brokered the deal. I love everything about this envelope: the scale, the lovely leafy vine graphic, and the paper is glorious (it feels very exotic in its smooth silkiness, I wish you could feel it!).

The Turkish translation will be published in November and I cannot wait to see the new cover. Unfortunately, I will not be able to read it, but perhaps some of you will and you’ll let me know how Caroline is doing in Turkish . . .

To all of you self-published authors out there, remember that translations can happen!

Here’s hoping this is the first of many translations to come . . .
